Hebrew/ISL Bag (Connection)

This multilingual tote bag presents the Hebrew word חִבּוּר (‘connection’) and its sign in Israeli Sign Language (ISL).

The basic sign means ‘connection’; maintaining it while moving the hands in an inclusive horizontal semicircle at chest height conveys a connection to everyone, while forming the sign repetitively at different points along that semicircle expresses connection to multiple individuals.

Besides bearing a social message, the bag boosts the visibility of ISL, a rich language that serves thousands of deaf and hearing-impaired Israelis. It thus makes a lovely gift as well, both practical and meaningful.

The proceeds from the sale of the bag will support the activity of the Academy’s ISL department, established in 2022 to preserve, develop, and advance Israeli Sign Language.
