Eliezer Ben-Yehuda Figurine

New in the Academy’s bookstore!
We are excited to offer a limited-edition figurine of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda. This figurine makes a unique gift for anyone with the spirit of Ben-Yehuda, and for whomever the love of Hebrew burns in their heart.

Hebrew is Home: this figurine was designed as part of the ‘Piece of History’ project and is seen here in its unique display case. The front part of the display case shows the building of the Academy of the Hebrew Language – the organization that continues the work of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda and the Hebrew Language Committee.

“Words, words he dreamed up in his stormy mind!” The case’s back has a summary of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda’s activities for the revival of spoken Hebrew and a short list of some of the best known words that he coined: from מילון ‘dictionary’ to עיתון ‘newspaper’ and from בובה ‘doll’ to גלידה ‘ice cream’.

The figurine is 8 centimeters high. The dimensions of the display case: 8*8*12 cm
