The Chronicle of Ahimaaz (Megillat Ahima’s), published in 1054 CE, is a composition in rhymed prose by Aḥimaʿaṣ ben Palṭiʾel that documents the family history of the author from the ninth century CE until the publication of the book. Beside depictions of historical events the work also contains legends and tales.
This edition, prepared by the Historical Dictionary Project of the Academy of the Hebrew Language, was published in 1965 in advance of the Fourth World Congress of Jewish Studies. Through it the editorial board sought to show how the Dictionary Project prepares material for the dictionary, from markup of the source text to extraction of all the citations needed for writing dictionary entries.
