The 100 Words pocket dictionary contains a hundred words renewed by the Hebrew Language Committee and the Academy of the Hebrew Language. Arranged by decade, the dictionary invites readers to take a retroactive look at words that were once new and have since become an integral part of our language, and to familiarize themselves with less-known words, such as mashh̠itanut (vandalism), dshonet (compost), metad (dowel), and sah̠rir (spin).
Entries accompanied by Orit Bergman’s nostalgic, whimsical illustrations.
